Geological Monuments
Geologic characteristics and features of the Earth’s surface include geomorphological forms and geologic structural features of the earth’s surface that were formed by geologic processes through the geologic time. They include landforms and other features that appear to be of educational, historical, or geotouristic values and serve as outstanding monuments of natural beauty, Earth’s dynamism and incessant environmental changes in its history. These Saudi geological wonders should be well-documented, protected, and preserved. They have acquired great importance during the last years due to their scientific, historic, and economic values.

- Identification and determination of the sites with exceptional natural or geologic features
- Documentation of these geologic monuments
- Assessment of the scientific, historic, and economic importance of these geologic features
- Preparation of Management plans for the setting up and preservation of these sites
