Gravity data are considered one of the most important data sets that the Saudi Geological Survey relied on through a sequence of surveys. The Saudi Geological Survey obtained the gravity data from the surveys of preceding authorities during the eighties for the southern and northeastern parts of the Arabian Shield, and for the regions proximal to the Red Sea. Due to the great distances between the data points, the data are only valid for regional profiling, however, they provide an important image about the structure of the Arabian Shield and the Red Sea Coast. By linking them to the magnetic aerial data, they are useful in explaining and interpreting the origin of minerals and rocks.
