Accelerated Exploration Team Reviewed Work Progress with the South African Company
The CEO of the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS), Eng. Abdullah bin Muftar Al-Shamrani, and the Accelerated Exploration Initiative Team met with the experts from the MSA Alliance, the leading South African company in the field of exploration and mining, and the Golden Compass Company, the Initiative’s technical partner. The parties discussed areas of cooperation, which could help boost the growth and development of the Initiative. The meeting discussed the work developments and addressed the putting up of future action plans into effect.

SGS Attracts Investors at the IMARC in Australian
HE Bandar bin Ibrahim Al Khorayef, the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, chaired the delegation of the Industry and Mineral Resources ecosystem, who participated in the IMARC in Sydney, Australia on November 2-4, 2022. Their participation was aimed to develop and attract mining investments to the Kingdom and to exchange experiences with the world’s leading states in the mining sector.
The CEO of the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS), Eng. Bandar bin Ibrahim Al Khorayef, and several officials of the SGS held meetings with the representatives of the Geological Survey of Western Australia in the City of Perth. In addition, they held technical meetings with Curtin University, the Cooperative Research Center “MINIX”, and the Innovation Core Incubator in order to initiate cooperation and to further explore and develop mineral resources, as well as attract qualitative investments for the mining sector in the Kingdom. Currently, the world witnesses great interest in minerals and metals for construction, manufacturing, development, and technological progress. Today, the Kingdom seeks to establish key global partnerships in this sector in order to create a dynamic and open economy.
The SGS participated in the “Saudi Night” at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Sydney in the presence of Australian and international businessmen and investors.
It is noteworthy that one of the objectives pursued by the IMARC is the development of the industrial sector, which is a key lever in achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP), which aims to transform the Kingdom into a leading industrial power and a global logistics platform by maximizing the value achieved from the mining and energy sectors.

The SGS Met with its Finnish Counterpart
The Geological Survey of Finland’s (GTK) delegation, headed by Mr. Kimmo Tiilikainen, visited the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) to follow up on the participation of the GTK specialists in the the Regional Geological Survey Program and the National Geological Database Initiatives. This 3-day visit was also aimed at the discussion and initiation of the ways and means of the cooperation between the two entities.
