Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) is a leading public authority specializing in geological sciences, earth sciences, and related fields. SGS provides government and private entities, as well as members of the society, with all information, studies, and technical reports related to these areas. Additionally, SGS works to create investment opportunities in the mining and natural resources sector to generate economic revenues and provide job opportunities. SGS conducts surveys, explorations, and excavations of minerals and industrial rocks, prepares maps and reports, carries out geological and hydrological studies, and also monitors natural phenomena such as earthquakes and volcanoes and oversees other geological hazards. Furthermore, SGS ensures the sustainability of the Zamzam water supply to serve the guests of Allah.

How Your Personal Data Is Stored and Retained:

Your personal data is securely stored and retained, and when necessary, encrypted on central storage systems. Data retention and storage practices are in accordance with specified retention periods and for the purposes for which they were collected, or to meet any legal, regulatory, or accounting requirements.

Data Retention and Erasure

 Your personal data will be retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected. Once this purpose is achieved, or upon your request, data will be securely deleted in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements in Kingdom. Additionally, data will be permanently destroyed ten years after the last login, in accordance with Article 18 of the Personal Data Protection Law, subject to any applicable exceptions.

  • Right to Know: You have the right to be informed of the legal grounds for collecting your personal data and the purpose of collecting and processing such data.

  • Right to Request Your Personal Data: You have the right to obtain a copy of your personal data through the channels provided by SGS in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, either electronically or in printed form, if possible.
  • Right to Correct Your Personal Data: You have the right to request correction, completion, or updating of your personal data held by SGS, provided that this does not affect processing operations based on other legal grounds.
  • Right to Erase Your Personal Data: You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data when it is no longer needed, provided it does not conflict with Article 18 of the Personal Data Protection Law.
